چکیده
Marker Assisted Selection (MAS), which is the process of using the results of DNA testing to assist in the selection of individuals to become parents of the next generation by combining the genotypes and the expected progeny differences of the bulls. In the present study, all the five markers were highly informative. The highest PIC value was obtained for the microsatellite marker ILSTS096 (0.865), followed by BL41 (0.849), BM4305 (0.846), HUJII77 (0.842) and BM1508 (0.630). The highest direct count heterozygosity was observed for the microsatellite marker ILSTS096 (0.877), followed by BL41 (0.862), BM4305 (0.861), HUJII77 (0.851) and BM1508 (0.683). The highest unbiased heterozygosity of 0.880 was observed for the microsatellite marker ILSTS096, followed by BL41 (0.865), BM4305 (0.864), HUJII77 (0.854) and BM1508 (0.686).

The present investigation aimed to conduct a genetic study of dairy cattle and buffalo bulls based on economic traits and their phenotypic correlation. The means of various economic traits in both the species are presented. Cattle bulls reported a better libido score, Flehmen response, requirement of mounting stimulus and semen volume, conception rate and expected predicted difference for milk ...
متن کاملQuantitative Trait Loci Affecting Milk Production Traits on BTA 14 in Iranian Holstein Dairy Cattle: A Confirmation
The aim of this study was to refine the position of previously detected quantitative trait loci (QTL) on bovine chromosome 14 affecting milk production traits, using both linkage analysis (LA) and combined disequilibrium and linkage analysis (LDLA) methods, in Iranian Holstein dairy cattle. Analysis data was LRT (likelihood ratio test) and computed using the DMU (estimate the (co)variance compo...
متن کاملEstimation of genetic parameters for production traits and somatic cell score in Iranian Holstein dairy cattle using random regression model
In this study test-day records of milk (kg), fat (g), and protein (g) yields, somatic cell score (SCS, cells/ML) collected by Animal Breeding Center of Iran during 2007 and 2009 were used to estimate genetic parameters using random regression model. Models with different order of Legendre polynomials were compared using Bayesian information criterion (BIC).For milk, fat yield and SCS genetic an...
متن کاملEvaluation in beef cattle of six deoxyribonucleic acid markers developed for dairy traits reveals an osteopontin polymorphism associated with postweaning growth.
The objectives of this study were to 1) estimate the allelic frequencies in US beef cattle of 6 DNA markers reported to be associated with variation in dairy production traits; and 2) evaluate the association of these markers with beef production traits. Several genetic markers have been associated with milk yield or composition, including polymorphisms in secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1; also ...
